By using our DOT Rated Callisto Gas Scrubber Canisters over the competition, your cost to transport these canisters is significantly less, saving you lots of money.  These can be used as replacement Canisters for CS Clean,  Novapure,  Techarmonic, and other gas scrubbers. If a canister is not DOT rated, then a customer has to buy a secondary enclosure and put the canister in it. They get charged for the additional canister, the added volume and weight (total weight can be 500 lbs. or more), and they have to report hazardous waste based on canister volume, so the reporting costs go up....

The Honolulu Fire Department released Monday the investigation report into the cause and origin of a laboratory explosion at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The explosion occurred on March 16 in a Hawaii Natural Energy Institute biofuels research laboratory in the Pacific Ocean Science and Technology (POST) building. A visiting researcher, identified in the report as Thea Ekins-Coward, was injured. The report confirms she lost an arm in the explosion. Read the full report here. According to the fire investigator, the explosion occurred in a portable gas cylinder: The accidental cause of this explosion was caused by the detonation of compressed gasses to include: Hydrogen, Carbon Dioxide,...

Critical Systems Inc, an industry leader providing gas delivery and abatement equipment, orbital welding equipment leasing, rentals and service for high tech industries, announced today that it would be expanding its offering of components, equipment spare parts and soon “specialty gases and chemicals” to the virtual marketplace via a Virtual Storefront. The company, which prides itself service and on the value it offers customers, sees its Virtual Storefront as a way to embrace technology providing products, information and service around the clock to serve the needs of a growing number of Buyers. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase...

September 2016 Critical Systems, Inc., finalized the completion of their new, “state of the art” UHP Fabrication Center in Boise, Idaho. The expansion quintuples fabrication space and features ALL new “work cells” designed to improve productivity in the new Center by 50% giving CSI a 10X capacity over the 2011 expansion. CSI’s new Center will rival any orbital welding fabrication facility in the world, putting the company in position to capture large scale business in 2017 and beyond. The facilities expansion effort coupled with CSI's multimillion dollar investment the past five years into new Orbital Welding and fabrication equipment gives CSI a marked...

CVD Vapor and Liquid Delivery Systems The chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process refers to a category of manufacturing procedures commonly used in the semiconductor and solar industries. The procedures concern the deposit of a solid material, from a gaseous phase, onto a substrate or wafer. One of the key components of the CVD process entails a gas delivery system, which supplies precursors to the reactor chamber. When the gases come into contact with the heated substrate, the gases decompose (react) and form a solid layer over the substrate. The NFO Technique This CVD process allows manufacturers to add additional materials to the “doping” step,...

Question has been raised again about N2 purge panel for silane not being able to deliver high pressure to test pigtail after bottle changes. I provided the client my take on CGA that calls for purge panel in Section 8, to be used for providing inert gas source and that it no where references this as the panel pressure test source. However, they are asking how the pigtail connection is tested after bottle swaps.   (Answer) There are two common practices for testing the cylinder connection after the cylinder change and it really depends on the purge gas being used. Critical Systems Inc process...

The new M217 Orbital Welding Power Supply is Arc Machine’s replacement for the M207 which has been the 'de facto' industry standard machine for orbital tube welding for more than 20 years now.  Will the M217 live up to the reputation of its predecessor?  CSI’s John Throngard takes a closer look from a design, functionality, and operational perspective in this "First Look" article....

R. J. Pearson, M. D. Eisaman, J. W. G. Turner, P. P. Edwards, Z. Jiang, V. L. Kuznetsov, K. A. Littau, L. di Marco, and S. R. G. Taylor   Abstract—Fossil fuels are renewable only over geological time scales. The oxidation, via combustion, of considerable amounts of carbonaceous fuels since the dawn of the industrial revolution has led to a rapid accumulation of CO2 in the atmosphere leading to an anthropogenic influence on the Earth’s climate. We highlight here that a versatile energy carrier can be produced by re-cycling CO2 and combining it chemically with a substance of high chemical bond energy created from renewable energy. If CO2 is taken from the atmosphere...
