Last week on October 27 and 28, our team had the opportunity to demonstrate our copper welding process at Plumbers and Gasfitters UA Local 12 in Boston. The two day event gave us a chance to present the process, equipment, and tooling that have gone into developing this welding method.

On October 27, we demonstrated the process for approximately 60 instructors and apprentices at Local 12. On October 28, the demonstration was presented to contractors. Throughout both days, we walked through the different steps that go into producing a successful copper weld.

The demonstration covered tube preparation, crimping the fittings, and the tooling that was developed specifically for the process. We also discussed how each of these steps contributes to creating a consistent setup before showing the actual welding process.

A major part of the demonstration was being able to show the welding process in action. This allowed attendees to see how the preparation, tooling, and equipment all came together to produce the finished weld.

Both groups were engaged throughout the demonstrations and asked many questions about the process, equipment, and potential applications. The level of interest and discussion around our demonstrations made the event a valuable opportunity for us to share what we have been developing and receive feedback directly from people in the industry.

We would also like to thank Rick Carter, Darren MacDonald, and Nick Palermo for their help in making the demonstration possible. Their support played an important role in putting together such a successful event. CSI would also like to thank the UA for supporting the development of a highly trained, professional workforce. Their work is essential to the success of businesses and our nation.

Overall, the demonstration at UA Local 12 was a good opportunity to share the progress that has been made with copper welding and introduce the process to new instructors, apprentices, and contractors. The questions and feedback from everyone who attended will help guide us as we continue developing the technology.
