Background & Journey

Head shot of Jeff Sindon.

1. Can you tell me about your journey with the company over the past 10 years?

Over the past 10 years, my journey at CSI has been one of continuous growth, new challenges, and meaningful relationships. Each stage has pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and develop new skills, and I’ve been able to work alongside people who inspire me every day.

2. What was your role when you first started, and how has it evolved?

I started in Gas Systems as a Gas Tech, but over time my role has evolved from that of Quality Assurance/Quality Manager, Gas Systems Manager and now my current role as the Director of Gas Systems. Over time, I’ve gained a broader perspective on how the different departments connect and contribute to CSI’s overall success.

3. What initially drew you to this company?

Initially, I came to CSI in a part-time role while working for another manufacturer in the area, because I wanted to grow my knowledge of gas systems and controllers. What I found was a company that not only had a desire for innovation and growth but also provided an environment where employees could carve out meaningful careers.

Memorable Moments

4. Have there been any major milestones or achievements that stand out?

One of my most memorable experiences was a visit to Manchester, New Hampshire, at an Intel facility for a demo and acquisition job that really showed me the impact of our work.

This helped reinforce my confidence that, while I had a solid background in gas systems and there were clear similarities between facilities, I was on the right track for continued growth at CSI. A major milestone for me has been being part of all nine of our controller builds, specifically the IG Max. This controller is a direct replacement for the Praxair UP 100, of which there are 1000’s still in the field, and being involved in its development has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

Growth & Learning

5. How have you grown professionally and personally during your time here?

Professionally, I’ve gained skills I never imagined, and personally, I’ve developed more confidence, resilience, and technical ability. The projects I’ve worked on have challenged me to think critically and problem-solve in ways that have carried over into my personal life as well. Learning to value incremental progress has made me and my team more effective.

Culture & Team

6. How would you describe the company culture?

Our company culture is collaborative, supportive, and focused on solving problems. People here care about one another’s success, and that creates an environment where everyone feels like they can contribute.

7. What do you enjoy most about working with your team?

What I enjoy most is the sense of teamwork at CSI. Everyone is willing to pitch in and help solve problems when they arise. We always celebrate the wins along the way. I also enjoy watching individuals develop their skill sets by taking ownership of challenges and finding solutions that benefit CSI.

8. Is there a particular colleague or mentor who’s had a big impact on you?

Morgan Whitworth has had a big impact on me as a mentor, offering guidance and support throughout my career here. His advice has helped me navigate challenges and recognize opportunities I might not have seen on my own.

Challenges & Resilience

9. What challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?

Like any journey, there have been challenges, but I’ve learned to face them with persistence and by leaning on the team’s strengths. I’ve learned that while nothing happens on an ideal timeline, each obstacle has taught me to approach challenges more strategically and that without my team, our growth and successes wouldn’t be possible.

10. How has the company supported you during tough times?

The company has always supported me with resources, encouragement, and leadership that genuinely cares. Knowing that management values its employees has made it easier to overcome difficulties and stay focused on my long-term goals.

Looking Ahead

11. What are you excited about for the future of the company?

I’m excited about the future growth of CSI and the new opportunities it will bring for both the company and our people. The innovation we’re pursuing now sets the stage for breakthroughs that will benefit our industries in the future.

12. Where do you see yourself in the next few years?

In the next few years, I see myself continuing to grow with CSI and help drive initiatives that shape our future successes. I want to keep building on my experience while mentoring my team members.

Advice to Future Employees

13. If you could give one piece of advice to new employees, what would it be?

My advice to new employees would be to stay curious, ask questions, and not to be afraid to take initiative or ownership of a problem. CSI is a place where hard work and curiosity are noticed and rewarded, so the more you invest in learning, the more opportunities will open up.
